This report forms the second part of a study of Community Energy in the UK, jointly commissioned by DECC and Consumer Futures. It was carried out by Databuild Research and Development, supported by the Energy Saving Trust.

The first part of this research summarised existing evidence, and was published alongside the Community Energy Call for Evidence. In the second part, conclusions about the scale and geographic distribution of community energy, factors that motivate those involved and information on the factors affecting success are reported.
