Details

The community engagement principles combine best practice guidance for engagement with a set of standards against which officials can make carefully considered judgements about who to engage with.

The community engagement principles are intended to improve government engagement with communities, serving to enhance and broaden its engagement practices to ensure that it hears from a diverse range of voices, while also mitigating risks.

Government officials should refer to the accompanying guidance in conjunction with the principles  to ensure that they are applying them consistently and proportionately.
