This is the full report of the project: ‘International Comparisons in Senior Secondary Assessment’.

It presents the findings of a study comparing the demands of assessments internationally. Specifically those taken by students about to enter into higher education.

The aim of this study was to allow us to reflect on how the education system in England might develop based on other systems.

The second attachment contains supplementary tables that support the study:

  • Tables 3 to 6: Approaches to assessment in mathematics, chemistry, English and history
