We have instigated close to 70,000 records of individuals, subject to immigration control, who were accredited by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) as Olympics Games Family Members. Our conclusion is that the very great majority left the UK in accordance with their permissions.
Of this number, 82 individuals have claimed asylum and separately, a comprehensive exercise during March showed that 50 individuals accredited as Games Family Members were in the UK at that time in possession of another form of legitimate leave.
Of the remaining individuals, a variety of checks have been undertaken and we are currently not aware of any other of these individuals remaining in the UK in an unauthorised fashion.
