Details

This research provided the qualitative follow-up to HMRC’s 2012 Compliance Perception Survey, with 30 face-to-face interviews conducted with Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The project explored trends emerging from the survey in more depth, as well as reactions to two new strategic areas:

  • the introduction of Merchant Acquirers data as a tool for detection and deterrence
  • the use of transparent benchmarking to assist compliance
