Details

This booklet presents a short summary of most of the projects the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles funds. It demonstrates the range and complexity of the issues being addressed by the ongoing projects. Our hope is that it will be used as a resource for those seeking future collaborators, partners and solution providers.

Since 2014 government has invested significantly into the research and development of CAVs — we have already invested £120 million in CAV projects, with a further £68 million coming from industry contributions.

This funding is truly collaborative, supporting over 70 projects with more than 200 partners from organisations including:

  • automotive manufacturers
  • universities
  • insurance companies
  • high tech entrepreneurial businesses
  • research organisations

The nature of emerging CAV technology requires people from very many disparate sectors to come together to explore, develop and deploy the solutions of the future.
