This guidance sets out further detail on the new route for applicants seeking to extend construction site working hours introduced in the Business and Planning Act.

This guidance is withdrawn as the temporary application route to amend construction hours introduced via the Business and Planning Act 2020 ended on 31 March 2021. A written ministerial statement made on 25th March 2021 set out the government’s support for continued flexibility in respect of construction working hours until 30 September 2021.

The guidance provides further detail on the new route to seeking a temporary extension of construction site working hours and sets out considerations which local authorities must take into account in determining applications under this proposed new route.
