This report describes the enforcement arrangements, and sets out statistics on performance, for 2 pieces of legislation:

  • Consumer Protection Act 1987
  • General Product Safety Regulations 2005

Both pieces of legislation protect consumers from unsafe products.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is required to lay before Parliament a report on the exercise of its functions, and those of other enforcing bodies. This report covers the period from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2013.
