I would like to request the contact information of all driving instructors who are on the find a driving instructor and lessons website run on the direct gov website. Please include full name, any phone numbers, email, postcodes.
Response
I can confirm that DSA does hold this information, but as it identifies individuals, any processing of the information must be carried out in compliance with the Data Protection Act. This information is exempt from release under section 40(2) (personal information) of FoIA. It would not be fair or lawful to the driving instructors as they have only provided consent for their information to be listed on the find my nearest website and disclosure under FoIA would be a form of processing for which DSA does not have consent to do. A copy of this exemption is attached at Annex A.
