Update: 14 August 2023
We have updated Question 1.1 in the AR6 Supply Chain Plan Questionnaires, so that the definitions (‘comprehensive’, ‘detailed’ and so on) align with the information we need in relation to the question ‘Why were these suppliers chosen?’
In order to qualify for a Contract for Difference (CfD) Allocation Round, CfD applicants for a generating station with generation capacity of 300 MW or more, and all applicants for floating offshore wind projects, will be required to provide National Grid ESO (as delivery body) with a statement by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero approving the Supply Chain Plan submitted in respect of that station.
The applicant’s responses to the scored sections of the Supply Chain Plan questionnaire will be assessed to determine award of this Supply Chain Plan statement of approval, and hence eligibility to participate in the CfD scheme.
These documents set out the process for submitting and assessing supply chain plans:
- the Supply Chain Plan questionnaire for onshore and offshore projects equal to or greater than 300 MW
- the Supply Chain Plan questionnaire for floating offshore wind projects
- the Supply Chain Plan questionnaire for solar PV projects equal to or greater than 300 MW
- guidance on how to complete the questionnaire and on the Supply Chain Plan process as a whole
Applicants who are successful in being awarded a CfD in the Allocation Round also need to obtain a further statement from the Secretary of State confirming they have successfully passed their Supply Chain Plan implementation assessment (a Supply Chain Implementation Statement) once they have passed their Milestone Delivery Date, confirming delivery of, or progress against, the activities and outcomes committed to in the scored sections of the Supply Chain Plan, in order to be able to fulfil one of their CfD Operational Conditions Precedent (OCP).
