This document contains the following information: Convention establishing a European organization for astronomical research in the southern hemisphere with financial protocol: Paris, 5 October 1962.

The UK instrument of accession was deposited on 24 June 2002 and the Convention and Financial Protocol entered into force for the UK on 24 June 2002. The Convention and Financial Protocol were previously published as Miscellaneous No. 7 (2002) Cm 5493 and Miscellaneous No. 8 (2002) Cm 5494 respectively.

This Command Paper was laid before Parliament by a Government Minister by Command of Her Majesty. Command Papers are considered by the Government to be of interest to Parliament but are not required to be presented by legislation.
