This memorandum of understanding deepens the UK and Ireland’s bilateral relationship and enables closer working to ensure security of supply in a number of ways including establishing clear procedures and protocols concerning how we would work together in the case of a shortage of gas supply.

The signing in London at a British-Irish Energy Day was attended by UK Energy Secretary of State Claire Coutinho and Irish Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications and Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan.
