If you’re a local authority who received a letter from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) about your allocation of the Local Authority Emergency Assistance Grant for Food and Essential Supplies, read this guidance on how to distribute and administer the grant.

The grant is not available to individuals - you should contact your local council to find out about help available to you. Funding from the grant is limited so local councils will identify and support those most in need.
