We have committed to protecting 30% of the UK’s land and sea by 2030 (30by30). This document explains how the government is taking action to deliver this commitment on land in England.   

This document includes:  

  • our vision for 30by30 on land in England – which sets out how we intend to deliver the UK’s 30by30 target in England

  • our confirmed 30by30 criteria – which sets out how land can contribute towards 30by30 in England

  • our next steps for developing a 30by30 delivery strategy and a 30by30 assessment and reporting process
