Identity guidelines for suppliers
A short guide to using our new visual identity.
December 2019
The logo
We encourage suppliers to use the logo to promote their agreement position. Please note that subcontractors are not permitted to use the Crown Commercial Service branding.
Consortia members may refer to the framework agreement and use the logos if they have received approval from the relevant category manager. The category manager must give their approval before consortia members can use the logo.
To make sure the brand is consistent:
-
always use the logo as detailed in these guidelines
-
only use the provided master artwork (logo images)
-
never redraw or distort the artwork in any way
You can find the logo images on the Crown Commercial Service supplier logo and brand guidelines gov.uk page
The way in which the logo elements (colour line and name) work, is written in this guidance.
Suppliers must never alter the guidance that is written below. You should always use the identity artwork (logo images) provided.
You can download identity artwork (logos) from our dedicated supplier resource area. This will also include more advice and guidance on marketing your agreement position.
Identity logo colour
The CCS brand mark (logo) comes in three colours. You can tell the colour of the logo by the brand line.
The ‘brand line’ is the vertical coloured line next to the text in the CCS supplier logo. The logo colours are:
-
black (black text with black brand line)
-
blue (black text with blue brand line)
-
white (white text with white brand line)
Identity exclusion zone
Protected area
The ‘protected area’ is the amount of clear background or space immediately around the logo.
The logo looks best when surrounded by a distinct area of clear space. This makes sure that the logo can be easily seen and read by customers. It also helps to maintain the integrity of the logo.
Guidance on sizes
The logo should not be smaller than 25mm wide.
Logo use on background colours and photography
When applying the logo to your own marketing materials, use the black or white logos.
The basic rule for putting the supplier logo on coloured backgrounds is to use:
-
the black logo on white or light coloured backgrounds
-
the white logo on dark backgrounds or backgrounds that use strong colours.
This makes sure that the logo will stand out from the brand and will be easy to see.
When using the supplier logo on pages that use photography as their background, the above rule still applies.
Design and layout
When using the logo to endorse your marketing materials, always make sure that the logo stands out and is clear.
Position
Our preferred position for the CCS logo is top left or bottom left corner of all marketing materials.
You can position the logo in the top or bottom right corners, as long as you follow the guidance on exclusion zones and sizing.
