David Steel Welsh and Linda Marion Welsh have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 13/43/021/S/225 which authorises the abstraction of water from the Eastern Avon at Sharcott Mill, Pewsey, Wiltshire, at National Grid Reference SU 14799 59010. The licence currently authorises the abstraction of 454 cubic metres per day and 26,370 cubic metres per year for spray irrigation between 01 April and 30 September inclusive.
The variation applied for is to abstract an additional yearly quantity of 6,000 cubic metres between 01 November and 31 March inclusive for the purpose of filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation. The daily volume will be 454 cubic metres as per the existing licence.
