This guide provides information about appeals of barring decisions made by the Disclosure and Barring Service, under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (SVGA (as amended) and the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007 (SVGO).

This guide also applies to barring decisions made by the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) before 1 December 2012.
