Government has committed to diversifying its supply chains by ensuring contracts are awarded on the basis of the supplier’s social impact, as well as on price.

The VCSE action plan aims to increase commercial engagement with a spectrum of organisations referred to as ‘civil society’. These range from small community-based groups, through to larger registered charities and social enterprises, public service mutuals and cooperatives.

These organisations are embedded in communities and have expert local knowledge that can be drawn on to create better and more compassionate public services. Engaging them in our supply chain will enable DCMS to benefit from their expertise to create more compassionate public services.
