Details

This roadmap sets out how the Defra Earth Observation Centre of Excellence will support the best use of Earth Observation to inform decisions affecting the environment and society across the Defra Group.

In this roadmap, ‘Earth Observation’ (EO) data refers to spatially referenced data that can be used to see changes on the surface of the Earth over time. Across Defra’s business, there is a wide range of existing and potential applications of Earth Observation. These include crop and habitat monitoring, water pollution modelling and fisheries and marine conservation.
