Details

Government departments are required to carry out a review of any legislation between 3 and 5 years after it comes into force to determine whether it is working as envisaged, and to inform the development of future legislation. This memorandum provides the Communities and Local Government Departmental Select Committee with the Department’s post legislative scrutiny assessment of the Planning Act 2008. This reflects changes to that Act brought under the Localism Act 2011 and the Growth and Infrastructure Act 2013.
