1. Request
I am requesting the following information for the period 2019 to 2022:
- How many security companies are new to the Approved Contractor Scheme compared to the total number of organisations registered?
- A list of approved contractors
- A list of the scores for the approved contractors
- A list of the turnover of the approved contractors
- How many approved contractors have left the scheme over the past two years?
- A list of the advantages that the ACS has over other similar approved contractor schemes and accreditations such as NSI Gold and other organisations such as ISPA
2. Response
I confirm that the SIA holds part of the information that you have requested. The response can be found below.
2.1 Security companies new to the ACS
196 companies were new to the Approved Contractor Scheme. There were 838 approved contractors as of 8 March 2022. 23% of existing approved contractors are new to the ACS between 2019 and 2022.
2.2 A list of approved contractors
The information you have requested is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, as the data is readily accessible within the public domain. For ease of use, I have provided you with a spreadsheet of approved contractors as of 8 March 2022 and the link which will take you to our website and the location of the live data: Register of Approved Contractors.
2.3 A list of the scores for the approved contractors
Please see attached spreadsheet. Please note that these scores are only for our 780 ‘standard route’ approved contractors, as NSI ‘passport scheme’ approved contractors have a different scoring mechanism.
2.4 A list of the turnover of the approved contractors
The SIA does not hold information relating to the turnover of approved contractors.
2.5 How many approved contractors have left the scheme over the past two years
