Andrea Jenkyns, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Skills outlines the Department for Education’s (DfE) priorities for improving qualifications at level 2 and below, and asks Ofqual to:

  • consider how its regulatory powers can be used to improve funded qualifications at level 2 and below for young people and adults studying post-16
  • work with DfE and the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE) to support meaningful improvement in the quality of these qualifications

The letter is made up of 2 parts:

  • part 1 gives overall steers on qualifications at level 2
  • part 2 gives more detailed steers on individual qualification groups
