Expression of interest in new e-scooter trials privacy notice

Introduction

The Department for Transport (DfT) is running this expression of interest to give us an indication of the number of e-scooter schemes that might be launched and to inform the design of the full application process.  

What data we are collecting and how we will use it

We are collecting your name, email address and job title to:

  • verify your role in your local authority
  • contact you when the full application process for new e-scooter trials launches, to advise you this has launched

Our lawful basis for collecting your data

Under data protection law, the lawful basis for processing your data is Article 6(1)(e) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation – public interest.

Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

How long we retain the data

Your personal data will be kept securely by DfT and anonymised 1 month after the deadline by when full applications for new e-scooter trials must be submitted to the department.
