This will be a joint project between the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Diocese of Shrewsbury.
Further information
The North West Catholic Dioceses Multi-Academy Trust will pilot an intensive turnaround approach for Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Diocese of Shrewsbury that need the support of a strong multi-academy trust (MAT) so they can access support quickly.
The pilot will officially be launched later in 2021 and has been developed in partnership with the Catholic Education Service and the North West Catholic Dioceses.
The Department for Education is currently working with the Catholic Dioceses to identify schools that would benefit most from this support.
The Secretary of State for Education gave a speech on 28 April 2021 in which he announced the creation of a new Catholic turnaround trust pilot.
