The programme closed at the end of the 2015 to 2016 financial year and is no longer active.

The Reuniting Europe programme supported partner countries with the reforms necessary for EU accession or closer partnership with the EU.

It focused on:

• stable institutions
• guaranteeing democracy
• the rule of law
• human rights
• respect for and protection of minorities
