Details

Healthcare professionals can use this tool to find information about emergency hospital admissions for children with asthma, diabetes or epilepsy and time spent in the hospital.

The data can be compared to highlight variations and trends, and allow benchmarking. This can help with planning, commissioning and improving children’s services.

The tool shows clinical commissioning group (CCG) level data on:

  • emergency admissions
  • emergency bed days
  • length of stay

The ‘Children who are ill’ tool is another improving service tool, which provides hospital admissions information for children with common illnesses, such as respiratory or gastric conditions, as well as for those with complex conditions, such as congenital heart conditions, cerebral palsy or metabolic disorders.
