To build a trade policy that works for the whole of the UK it is crucial that we engage with stakeholders and call upon expert views and opinions to help inform our work.

Details

This article sets out the principles which will guide the government’s engagement throughout the pre-negotiation phase.

The government has consulted widely since the referendum and will continue to do so. Now, as we move towards negotiating our own trade deals with other countries, the government is putting in place a more structured approach to engagement to provide clarity on how stakeholders can feed into the work of the Department for International Trade (DIT).
