Details

In April 2021 the Domestic Abuse Act received Royal Assent. This landmark Act will extend priority need for homelessness assistance to eligible persons who are homeless as a result of being a victim of domestic abuse.

A new burdens assessment has concluded that for the financial year 2021-22, the total new burdens are £1.5 million.

The allocations formula used to determine the amount of new burdens funding each local authority will receive is the same as that used to allocate the uplift in Homelessness Prevention Grant for this year and considers a combination of local homelessness and cost pressures.
