Details

This research on domestic hot water use in the UK is based on an existing data set, provided by a boiler manufacturer.

The size of the data set (115,000 anonymised homes) and the level of detail enabled higher quality and more in-depth research than in previous studies. It provides:

  • timing and type of hot water demand in homes
  • volume, temperature and energy demand of hot water use across the day and year
  • the data needed to support half hourly modelling of energy in the home
