Details

Following Professor Julian Le Grand’s investigation into social care services in Doncaster and the local response to the draft direction issued in March 2013, the Secretary of State for Education and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government issued a further direction for improvement to Doncaster Council in August 2013.

This direction requires Doncaster metropolitan borough council to work with Alan Wood, the appointed Commissioner for Children’s Social Care in Doncaster, to transfer children’s social care services to a trust and secure improvements to children’s social care.

This direction has closed. It’s been replaced by a direction issued on 19 September 2014..
