Details

The Code of Practice provides guidance to police officers exercising powers under Schedule 7 to the Terrorism Act 2000. This draft revised Code of Practice reflects changes made to Schedule 7 by the Nationality and Borders Act 2022.

Pursuant to paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Terrorism Act 2000, the Secretary of State must lay a copy of the revised draft Code before Parliament. This revised draft of the code was laid before Parliament on 11 May 2022.

The draft revised Code will come into force once it has been debated in both Houses of Parliament and each House has expressly approved it.
