Details

The Draft Registration of Overseas Entities Bill was published in July 2018 and was scrutinised by a Joint Committee of MPs and peers. The report of the Joint Committee was published in May 2019.

This document sets out the government’s response to the Joint Committee.

The purpose of this draft Bill is to crack down on the use of UK property for money laundering, by improving transparency of property ownership through identification of the beneficial owners of overseas entities that own or plan to own UK property.
