Update paper prepared by COVID-19 Clinical Information Network (CO-CIN) for SAGE and NERVTAG. It was considered at SAGE 99 on 16 December 2021. As new evidence or data emerges, SAGE updates its advice accordingly.

This report is based on the third wave of infections, identified as those admitted on or after 1 May 2021.

These documents are released as pre-print publications that have provided the government with rapid evidence during an emergency. These documents have not been peer-reviewed and there is no restriction on authors submitting and publishing this evidence in peer-reviewed journals.
