E P and R Corbet Partnership: application made to abstract water

E P and R Corbet Partnership has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 18/54/04/1198 which authorises the abstraction of water from a land drain tributary of the River Roden at Preston Brockhurst, Shrewsbury, Shropshire at National Grid Reference (NGR) SJ 54719 24285.
The variation applied for is to add an additional abstraction point at NGR SJ 54752 24148; and to increase the annual quantity authorised on the existing licence of 18,000 cubic metres a year to 49,598 cubic metres a year calculated as follows:
- 28 cubic metres an hour
- 672 cubic metres a day
- 49,598 cubic metres a year
- at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 7.8 litres per second
- between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for filling of a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
