1. Reminder: local authorities to submit grant returns by 30 April 2016
Local authorities are reminded to submit their stage 1 grant return statements for 2015 to 2016 by 30 April 2016 using the guide to completing local authorities’ stage 1 grant returns.
Templates can be found in annex 1 and annex 2 of the guide.
Local authorities will need to submit their stage 2 grant returns by 31 October 2016. We will publish guidance on stage 2 later in the year.
2. Information: local authority allocations for 2016 to 2017 for extended rights to home-to-school travel
The Department for Education (DfE) have published local authority allocations for 2016 to 2017 for extended rights to home-to-school travel.
3. Information: release of COLLECT familiarisation blade
DfE has released a beta version of the 2016 summer school census so you can test using it before the start of the live data collection on 19 May 2016. You can use this version until 13 May 2016 after which any data will be removed.
We recommend that you take this opportunity to load a file output from your management information system (MIS) into COLLECT so that you can resolve any errors or queries before the collection goes live.
