1. Action: Individualised Learner Record R14 2014 to 2015 opens 12 October

The Individualised Learner Record (ILR) R14 data collection for the 2014 to 2015 funding year opens at 9am on Monday, 12 October and closes at 6pm on Friday, 23 October.

R14 is a mandatory return for all training providers. EFA will use this final return of the funding year for calculating funding factors, band proportions and compliance with the condition of funding for 2016 to 2017 allocations and end year reconciliation.

Use the EFA maths and English, HNS, funding claim and summary of funding by student reports to ensure all data recorded is complete and an accurate reflection of the status of each student at year end.

If you are due to make a return for R14, you must submit your data to the Hub. For further information, please refer to the Payments and Data section on GOV.UK.

2. Information: new funding training videos

The EFA have published a series of short videos explaining elements of funding arrangements for 2016 to 2017. We recommend you view these videos and would welcome any feedback on them. The videos are:

  • High needs funding part 1 and High needs funding part 2 – give an overview of the high needs funding system for local authorities, academies and free schools, including information for local authorities on the process for requesting changes to place numbers
  • Completing the authority proforma tool (APT) – some hints and tips for local authorities on completing the APT including how to add a new school, remove a closed or closing school and how to deal with a merged school
