Creating open habitat with no Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) requirement
If you are applying for a felling licence for deforestation, but your project is low risk and does not need an EIA application (see EIA threshold table), please submit a partially completed version of the EIA deforestation application form alongside your felling licence application to show that your project aligns with the government’s policy on when to convert woods and forests to open habitat in England.
You will only need to complete sections 9 to 11:
- Part 9 - Creating open habitat
- Part 10 - Open habitat policy criteria
- Part 11 - Proposed implementation and management
Download this form, complete sections 9, 10 and 11 only and send it when submitting your felling licence application.
