  1. Legislation has been laid before Parliament which postpones the elections scheduled in May 2025 to May 2026 to the following local authorities: the county councils of East Sussex; Essex; Hampshire; Norfolk; Suffolk; Surrey and West Sussex; and the unitary councils of the Isle of Wight and Thurrock. This legislation comes into effect on 4 March 2025. The postponement does not affect the timing of subsequent elections and these are retained in the lists here.
