Independent review of electrical engineering standards launch event, 5 March 2021

Join the experts behind this recent independent review of engineering standards in electricity, and senior BEIS and Ofgem representatives, for insight into its recommendations and next steps.

Government and Ofgem jointly commissioned an independent panel, chaired by Simon Harrison, to undertake a review of electrical engineering standards.

The report outlines ways that electrical engineering standards can be changed such that:

  • they are not creating undue costs on the electricity system and consumers
  • they are effectively facilitating a smart and flexible electricity system

The panel was supported by detailed technical advice from Frazer Nash Consulting.
