This report was commissioned by the Council for Science and Technology (CST) from the Royal Academy of Engineering. It investigates the economic and social impact of electricity shortfalls in the UK.

It follows on from an earlier study carried out by the Academy on behalf of CST, which looked into UK electricity capacity margins.
