Details
Information is given on the dose coefficients and the related guidance previously given by the International Commission on Radiological Protection and the National Radiological Protection Board.
The importance of considering doses resulting from in utero exposures to radionuclides and their transfer in breast milk is assessed, based on a series of calculations carried out for routine discharges of radionuclides to the environment. The applicability of the results for emergency exposure situations and solid waste disposal is also addressed.
