Documents

Details

This letter sets out the CMA’s recommendations to ministers in relation to competition issues in the Energy Bill.

These include ensuring that the relationship between competition law and collaboration - and the powers and activities of the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) - don’t give rise to risks of breaches of competition law or of anticompetitive information exchange.

The letter also stresses the importance of the OGA acting in ways that encourage ongoing competition between industry participants.

On 1 March 2016, the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Amber Rudd replied to the CMA’s recommendations.
