Details

The government and Ofgem are conducting a joint review into the codes which govern our energy system.

The review aims to deliver a consultation on changes to the existing arrangements that will create a regulatory framework capable of delivering the transition to a clean, smart, and consumer led energy system. It will also look at how these changes can be made, including through legislation if necessary.

The Terms of Reference for the review set out its scope and the outcomes it aims to achieve in more detail.

Reforming energy codes consultation

BEIS launched a consultation on energy industry codes reform on 22 July 2019. The consultation closes on 16 September 2019.
