Energy Price Guarantee for domestic electricity consumers in Northern Ireland: Direction No. 2 under Section 22 of the Energy Prices Act 2022 (23 June 2023)

1. Introduction, commencement and interpretation
1.1 This direction:
a. is given pursuant to Sections 22(2) and 22(4)(b) of the Energy Prices Act 2022 (EPA) to licensed electricity suppliers (as defined in Section 12(6) of the EPA); and
b. comes into effect on 26 June 2023 (the Effective Date).
1.2 It may be cited as the Energy Price Guarantee for Domestic Electricity Consumers in Northern Ireland Direction No.2.
1.3 In this direction:
a. capitalised terms have the meanings given to them in the Energy Price Guarantee for Domestic Electricity Consumers in Northern Ireland, Scheme Document, unless indicated otherwise; and
b. references to the Electricity (NI) Direction No.1 are to the Energy Price Guarantee for Domestic Electricity Consumers in Northern Ireland, Direction No.1.
2. Revocation of Electricity (NI) Direction No.1
2.1 The Electricity (NI) Direction No.1 is revoked, subject to paragraph 2.2.
2.2 The Electricity (NI) Direction No.1 continues to apply in respect of any new or revised Tariff that comes (or but for that direction would come) into effect before 1st July 2023.
