This strategy sets out our vision of the role of the retail market in achieving net zero.

This was published under the 2019 to 2022 Johnson Conservative government

Our energy retail strategy describes how, by setting a framework that incentivises energy companies to innovate for and engage with their customers, we will work with the market to take consumers on the journey to a net-zero energy system.

We have included here an open letter to interested parties to announce that we will seek to introduce legislation (subject to Parliamentary time and approval) to allow extensions of the default tariff (price) cap beyond 2023.
