This research explores how the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) could incorporate net zero elements in audits carried out under the scheme.

It was conducted with national stakeholders, ESOS energy assessors, and UK business managers, and consisted of:

• a brief desk research exercise
• a survey of 100 energy managers in relevant firms
• 37 depth interviews
