Engagement Description

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is reviewing the programmes and services it supports for young people outside of school (including the National Citizen Service, youth clubs, youth volunteering opportunities and local sports/arts groups).

We want to hear from as many young people and youth sector organisations as possible. This is so we can use your views to inform our policy on support for young people outside of school and help decide what we fund.

We’ve already been working closely with youth sector organisations to share our engagement resources with their networks and young people to gather as many views as possible.

Ways to Respond:

Young People - We’ve produced a digital questionnaire aimed at young people ages 11-18, or up to 25 if you are someone with additional needs (for example Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). The questionnaire has been developed in collaboration between DCMS and young people from the Government’s Youth Steering Group and Young Inspectors.

Youth Sector - We’ve produced an engagement pack for youth sector organisations to gather views within their organisation and/or networks. The questions have been developed in collaboration with youth sector representatives from the National Youth Advisory Board.

If you have any questions around this questionnaire, please contact youthreview@dcms.gov.uk.
