Engineering authorisations database updates

For information
- please note - with the roll out of the DII Tech refresh to Windows 7/Office 2010 it has been necessary to update the EAD Frontend file (MAP-01 Engineering Authorizations Database.mde) to ensure compatibility with the new operating system. On users transiting to this standard, the current EAD Frontend(s) should be replaced with the version below at line 1b - Win7 / Access 2010 only, and then linked as usual. Any problems encountered should be reported to the EAD helpdesk via email (DSA-MAA-AP-KE-MRP@mod.uk) or on 030-679-82504.
- also note - with some users now transitioning to Access 2013, either through the MODNET Office 365 rollout or via standalone systems, it has been necessary to update the EAD Frontend file (MAP-01 Engineering Authorizations Database.mde) further to ensure compatibility with the new operating system. (note - this file is now an .MDB type). On users transiting to this standard, the current EAD Frontend(s) should be replaced with the version below at line 1c - Access 2013 only, and then linked as usual. Users must note that they will also need to use the file at line 2b - Access 2013 as well to ensure correct database operation. Any problems encountered should be reported to the EAD helpdesk via email (DSA-MAA-AP-KE-MRP@mod.uk) or on 030-679-82504.
- if you are accessing this site from a MOD network on the RLI (eg DII), you will not be able to download any of the “zipped” files due to their incompatability with the EGS Firewall. In this case, you should use the MAA website hosted on the Defence Intranet.
- the Stn_Ship_Unit File, (Item 3) should only be used if you want to develop an authorizations database from scratch. Those Stn/Ship/Units that have already started using the system must not overwrite their current version, as it WILL delete all of their data

It must be used once you have migrated to Win7/Access 2010 and you need to update the EAD or you experience any problems in daily use.
