Details

In October 2015, the government committed to undertaking a technical review of the current English votes for English laws Standing Orders following the first year of their operation. The consultation for the technical review was then launched on 26 October 2016.

In addition to the consultation, the Government received reports from three Select Committees, representing both the House of Commons and House of Lords,; Procedure Committee, Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee and House of Lords Committee on the Constitution.

The Government sets out its response to the recommendations and conclusions made by the Select Committees within this document.
