Details

The UK has ratified changes to the Nuclear International Third-Party Liabilities (NTPL) framework through the 2004 Protocols of the Paris Convention on Nuclear Third-Party Liability and the Brussels Supplementary Convention on Nuclear Third-Party Liability (Paris-Brussels).

These changes came into effect on 1 January 2022 and have enhanced the regime, offering further protection to victims and increasing the minimum amount nuclear operators will have to pay in the unlikely event of a nuclear accident.
